It was a long journey and a tiring one, too. The heat, the storms, the cold, all the elements of this Earth seemed to have turned on them. He suspected it was some other magician's doing. After all, he wasn't the only one going after that treasure.

They were trying to cross the mountains when the night came and it started snowing. He began looking for shelter, but, really, leafless trees weren't of much help in this situation. Oh what a bother, he sighed to himself.

Suddenly the snow stopped.

-What..?

He looked up and saw a huge wing covering the sky above.

The dragon, definitely the finest of all the dragons he'd seen, just followed him. It was clearly bored of the same skies every day. Or maybe it had other reasons. People believe that dragons are wild beasts, but, as it is always with people, they're wrong. Dragons can talk. They just don't bother most of the time.

-What will you do with the knowledge that is to be gained there?

Just a bit of magic and the ground under them was clean from the snow. He sat down and the dragon followed. There was no better shelter from any force of nature than a dragon's wing, he knew that. It was so strange to be taken care of. And on top of that, by such a creature. He should consider himself lucky.

-I don't know. I don't know what knowledge that will be. Are you cold?

A few magic words in his mind and the air between his palms crackled. The sphere felt warm in his hands. The same warmth slowly spread into his whole body and further, into the air around him. The dragon shifted closer. They just sat there, a human and a magical creature, taking care of each other. It wasn't a common sight at all.

-Maybe I'll learn how to control the weather.

The dragon smiled in a way dragons do. It saw the man as much too young for such things.
